Auditing 

Working with your department on your terms, we offer auditing services to ensure you meet the specific documentation guidelines established by CMS in submission of charges and that your department is correctly submitting charges for reimbursement.  Upon completion of our audit, you will receive a report detailing what the current state of documentation of services rendered in your department is and areas that may need improvement.  In addition, we will provide recommendations on how you can better document procedures and we will even update you on charges that may have been missed, leading to recovery of further income. 

Contrary to other service providers, we will evaluate all patient care charts for the department for a specified time.  This sets us apart from the others who will only do a sampling of charts.  This is the single most important aspect of any department who is not 100% confident in their abilities to defend themselves against a painful audit.  The Centers for Medicare/Medicade Services (CMS) is about to expand the RAC program nationwide.  The contractors for the position have been chosen, and the program is expected to be fully implemented nationwide by the middle of 2010.  With the CMS rules constantly changing, how can you be sure you're meeting the current billing and coding guidelines?  Our staff will ensure you are prepared for the RAC audit that will become inevitable to every department and practice.
